Edit: Happiness to me is a sales pitch. I've never wanted to be happy really, just more complete. I take happiness and pain with equal measure and count both as tantamount to my overall education - never giving too much weight to either one. I guess that's where I broke from Rand's philosophy as I don't feel my ultimate goal is pursuit of my own happiness. I also can't feel happiness when others around me suffer, so I'm somewhat altruistic at base and have been since I was a toddler, (so my mother says), and I find it a hard pill to swallow when she tells me I should defy that instinct.

Formula 1 car vs. Normal cars

First F1 race I ever went to we watched Porsche's racing and it was pretty exciting, but when the F1 cars took to the track it took your breath away. The difference should be seen with your own eyes.

What he said about breaking; an f1 car letting off the gas and not touching the brakes is the same as slamming the brakes full on in a normal car. It really does take a full peg higher in driving skill over any other racing.

Fundamentally Strong?

What I do know is that not more than 5 years ago I could fill a grocery cart for 80 dollars, now it's 120 easy and usually more. Every little nickle and dime item is near doubled in price since then too - another way to slip in more profit that gets largely unnoticed. We are getting nickled and dimed to death in fact and my wages are about the same as they were in the early 90's and less if you factor in inflation and cost of living since then.

Anyone who thinks the economy is financially sound is simply blind. Everyone I know personally is losing ground.
