I'm happy to see that the importance of moving zig is something that defies partisanship, and brings together minds on both halves of the political spectrum.

It's all for great justice.

Lara Logan reports on the Yakuza
Me, when I read "Lara Logan reports on the Yakuza" I thought, "Really? Have they found her corpse yet?"

I figure the only reason Adelstein is still alive is due more to the disgrace of the one boss and Adelstein's apparent "friendship" with the rival boss than to the Tokyo police. The police probably just make sure he doesn't go anywhere he shouldn't. If the Yakuza really wanted him dead, he would be dead.

Check your settings, my Curve 8900 caches. Yes, you have to have downloaded the info at some point, but it chaches the map just to avoid excess downloading fees.

If I fire up gmaps in a deadzone on my blackberry, it tells me there's no service and does nothing. It ought to cache the road map if not the satellite imagery.

Google Navigation = Death of GPS Makers
Garmin units were never for finding your routes on a road through town. They are for finding your route through 200 miles of first-growth forest, staking your claim, then being able to return without getting lost and dying of starvation. They were for finding your favourite fishing spot, 300 nautical miles of the coast of nowhere, to find each of the 350 crab traps you set over 200 sq miles of ocean.

Tomtom is scared, Garmin is not. Street routing is something they added on, not their only reason for being.

American beer is like sex in a rowboat. They're both fucking close to water.

It's more like having sex in a canoe, Bruce.

Never know when an American won't know what something is, Lawrence. Gotta keep it lowest-common-denominator.
